Reflections of Her Life
Mrs. Pira Lee Scott was born on August 11, 1932, in Washington, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Jessie Porter. She worked for many years at the Howard Manufacturing Plant. Pira accepted Christ at an early age and had been a member of Macedonia Baptist Church since she was a little girl. She attended Clay Hill School and graduated from Macedonia High School with the Class of 1949.
Pira was well loved and known by many. She was known to keep you laughing and to tell you just like it is. “Pie,” as we called her, was also a fifth-generation grandmother.
Pira, age 93, a resident of Washington, Arkansas, gained her angel wings on Monday, November 10, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Pira was preceded in death by her lifelong partner, Mr. Eldrew “Jim” Witherspoon; her sons, Mr. Michael Scott and Mr. Vincent Scott; her brother, Mr. Hubbie D. Porter; her sister, Ada V. May; her grandson, Torey Scott; her great-grandson, Kaiden Brown; and her nieces, Linda Joyce and Jessie Porter.
She leaves to cherish and carry on her love: her sister and best friend, Maudalean (Herman) Johnson; her children, Gwendolyn Scott, Dwaine (Cleveen) Scott, Charles Scott Sr., Patricia (Charles) Scott Henry, and Johnny Johnson, all of Washington, Arkansas; her stepdaughter, Marilyn Jones of Hope, Arkansas; her brother-in-law, Kenneth (Kristen) Green; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
