Oliver Smith Jr., age 71, of Fulton, Arkansas, departed this life into eternal rest on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1953, in Miller County, Arkansas, to the late Mr. William Oliver Smith and the late Mrs. Jewerlean Beasley Smith.
Oliver began his education at Fulton Elementary School in Fulton, AR, where he attended from first through sixth grade. He continued his schooling at Yerger Middle School in Hope, AR, and went on to graduate from Hope High School with the Class of 1973. He was also a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.
After high school, Oliver moved to Dallas, Texas, where he enrolled in and completed an electronics program. In 1994, he returned to Fulton to assist as a caregiver for his mother. He later became employed at Poulan Chain Saw in Nashville, AR, where he worked until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oliver Smith and Jewerlean Smith; his brothers, Lewarren Smith, Earnest Smith, and Sam Smith; and his sisters, Ethel Trotter and Dorsha Smith-Harris.
Oliver leaves to cherish his memory: two brothers, Mr. James H. Smith (Camelia) and Mr. Charles E. Smith (Cynthia); four sisters, Mrs. Nettie May Smith-Duckworth, Mrs. Cleonia Turner, Mrs. Audrey Howard, and Mrs. Annie Jackson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved him dearly.
