Mr. Horace Malcolm Williams, age 63, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1962, in West Helena, Arkansas, and was the only child of the late Lula Pearl Flowers-Carter. Horace was a precious soul lovingly raised by his grandmother, Daisy Flowers, alongside his Aunt Willie Mae and cousins Shirley and Elnora in Waterloo, Arkansas. Their nurturing guidance helped shape the strong, kind-hearted man he would become.

Horace graduated from Oak Grove High School in Rosston, Arkansas, in 1980, where he played basketball and actively participated in various sports and school activities. His passion for learning led him to Red River Vocational School in 1981, where he studied Diesel Mechanics. In 2008, he furthered his education at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope (UACCH), continuing his training in Diesel Mechanics.

Throughout his career, Horace worked faithfully and diligently in various roles, including long-standing positions in Hope and Prescott, Arkansas, with Champion Parts, Inc.; Potlatch Wood Products, Inc.; Hines Trucking Company as a diesel mechanic; and later at Tyson Foods in the maintenance department, until his health began to decline.

On May 30, 2003, Horace met the love of his life and soulmate, Lynn Yvette Reed. Their love was united in marriage on April 15, 2004, before their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and witnessed by his father- and mother-in-law, Arneal and Ruby Reed. To this union, one son was born, Avian Michael, and Horace lovingly embraced a bonus son, Aston Mikhail Eason, as his own. Horace was skilled in mechanics and gardening, and he loved cooking meals for his wife and sons using recipes his grandmother had taught him. He also had a true green thumb and was known for growing vegetables and reviving plantsโ€”especially those belonging to his mother-in-lawโ€”bringing them back to life with care and patience.

Horace was a devoted husband, father, and friend who deeply treasured his family. He took pride in ensuring that his wife and sons were provided for and surrounded by love, support, and stability. He found great joy in reading the Bible, watching basketball and football, and engaging in lively conversations with his brothers-in-law about the ups and downs of the players and the thrill of the games. He cherished teaching his boys about life, cars, and responsibility, taking every opportunity to share lessons grounded in faith, perseverance, and the value of education. Holidays and family gatherings brought him tremendous happiness, as he delighted in spending quality time with his wife, sons, in-laws, and extended loved ones.

Horace also loved spending time in conversation with his late father-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was a proud member of the Kingdom Men Groupโ€”a Saturday morning tradition he shared with his brothers-in-law, where they connected over sports, politics, and current events, all grounded in their shared faith and brotherhood.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Pearl Flowers-Carter; his grandmother, Daisy Flowers; aunts, Argene Hopkins and Gracie Mae Flowers; uncles, Wash Jr., Robert, and Leotis Flowers; and his mother- and father-in-law, Arneal and Ruby Reed.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife and soulmate of 21 years, Lynn Yvette Reed-Williams; sons, Avian Williams and Aston Eason; aunts who were like sisters, Willie Mae Nixon, Matha Lee McNeely, and Everlean Chambers; uncle, Richard Flowers; cousins, Sue and Robert McKinney, and Shirley and Amos Johnson; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Lorraine Reed-Grigsby (Riley), Jennifer Reed-Lowe (Kenneth), Joanne Reed-Beavers (Cedrick), Kimberly Reed-Lydia (Timothy), Kelly Reed (Monica), Arneal Reed Jr. (Trelaine), and Keith Reed (Angela); best friends who were like brothersโ€”Ernest Hughey, Jerry Bailey, and Calvin Martin; close classmate and friend, Lee Henry Jr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
