In Loving Memory of Neal Charles Edward Jones

On January 5, 1951, God blessed Persie Lee and Nellie Jean Jones with a son, Neal Charles Edward Jones who grew up in Hope, Arkansas, in a loving Southern Baptist home. A proud graduate of Yerger High School’s Class of 1968, he went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his service, Neal worked at Arkansas Power and Light and became skilled in many trades, including electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing.

Neal loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a devoted father to his late son, Carneal, and stepfather to Rhonda, Stacy, and Olivia. He deeply cherished his two grandsons and created many special memories with them. Neal’s greatest love was his late wife, Valerie, who also preceded him in death.

He had many friends in his local community, and the family extends special thanks to Josephine Vaugh, Pastor Gwendolyn Jones, and Lemanz McPherson for their unwavering support and friendship.

On September 8, 2025, Neal was called home to be with the Lord—less than one day apart from his sister Virginia. The family takes comfort in knowing this was God’s will.

Neal will be remembered as a loving father, brother, a protector, and a man of faith, family, and service. He is survived by his sisters Sara M. Jones (Edmond) and Patricia A. Jones (Robinson), along with a host of other relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date.
